Biography:
Joey Saylor, MBA, is thrilled to serve the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» community as a Major Gift Officer. In his role, Joe focuses on building warm, trust-based relationships with alumni, University friends, and institutional partners. He loves guiding donors through every step of their giving journey—from first conversations to celebrating the lasting impact of their generosity. Whether he is working to secure support for major capital campaigns, exciting academic initiatives, or critical student scholarships, Joey is passionate about connecting donors' hearts with the University's mission. He also works with regional wealth managers and estate attorneys to make complex planned giving and donor-advised funds gifts easy for alumni and families.
Joey brings a unique blend of fundraising expertise and business savvy to the MSJ Advancement team. He previously was the Director of Development for the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, where he helped secure transformational gifts exceeding $1 million and launched impactful scholarship initiatives. Beyond the nonprofit world, Joey has a vibrant entrepreneurial background as a business owner and managing partner roles for popular businesses in the Cincinnati region. This diverse experience means he knows how to listen closely to people, care for clients, and design fun, engaging host events that bring the community together around shared goals.
A true educator and learner at heart, Joey holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and Master of Business Administration from Madison University, a Master of Education from Xavier University, and a Bachelor of Science in History from Ohio Dominican University. Joey firmly believes in giving back to the community he loves, which shines through his active volunteer work. He has held board member and advisory roles for wonderful local organizations including Magnified Giving, Safe at Home Foundation, The Cincinnatus Association, and the Clark High School Foundation.
