The program combines intensive study of the visual arts with education coursework, giving students opportunities to develop their artistic skills while learning how to meet the needs of diverse PreK-12 learners.
Through studio courses, art history, art criticism, field experiences and student teaching, students gain hands-on experience across a variety of artistic disciplines while preparing for careers in art education. The program culminates in a senior thesis exhibition and prepares graduates to apply for Ohio Teacher Licensure in Visual Arts (PreK-12).
